Helping us improve
Kvetch — Mon, 01/09/2012 - 12:02
4Dimensions is trying to improve itself and is asking for the help of all current players. We want to improve the structure of how to play so 4Dimensions will be THE mud to play on for the next decade or more. To get all the valuable insights from the players we can, we've created the following threads on the forum.
The first is Once's guide on how YOU can help. Find it here: http://4dimensions.org/forum/index.php/topic,760.0.html
Bane took Once's suggestion and ran with it, creating two disctictive Macros for help.
Macro: Alignment: http://4dimensions.org/forum/index.php/topic,762.0.html
Macro: Newbie: http://4dimensions.org/forum/index.php/topic,765.0.html
We are sure there are more areas that players think need improving so we ask that you create your own topics following the ideas above. Think of the way combat is, quests, PVP and all other aspects of the game. Create a Macro for that idea, ask for input from other players as well.
We're all in this game together so we may as well create something we all love to play even more than we love playing 4D now.

Something I want to add in
Bane — Wed, 01/11/2012 - 10:21I just want to add in something Once told me. Don't be disappointed if your ideas are rejected or not used. Doesn't mean that they are not good ideas, just it might not be the way people want the system to go, or it might be better to do it a different way. Just keep the ideas coming, and keep pointing out problematic areas. Just remember maybe that one idea that got thrown out might be used down to road and twisted a little bit for another idea. Just don't be upset if things are not going in the way you want. If you see something that will cause problems, post the facts with it, because it might not be that clear to everyone. Just a little bit of my 2 cents, and Once's half cent :).
Why ask for lots of suggestions?
Kvetch — Wed, 01/11/2012 - 13:31The reasoning behind asking for a lot of suggestions too is that one suggestion may make someone else think of a different way, sort of like the suggestion but different, of doing something and that may in turn twist a bit in someone else's mind. None of the suggestions are wrong, and each of them have a nugget of gold in them that can be mined. And in time all of the suggestions could come into something like a big ol' gold vein. I am fully in the belief that everyone's ideas should be heard, discussed and considered. Even the outlandish can get turned into something beautiful.
