Otherwise known as Builder of the Month and Builder of the Year Awards.

The Building standard in 4D has always been generally high, but some of the zones stand out as superior to the rest.

The Builder of the Month title is awarded for work out of the ordinary in the Building Port. It can be awarded for a zone of extra high quality, for unusually fast work, for exceptional helpfulness towards other Builders, or other achievements above average. Just completing a zone isn't enough for winning this award.

It must be said that the oldest BOTM zones mostly don’t live up to the high quality of the later ones. Back then we didn’t have all the additions for the code, like all the different extra descs, and the ability to hide portals and containers in the room. The scripts in the old days were also not nearly as advanced as the one that are created nowadays, and consequently most of the older zones didn’t have many Quests. These have been added later, and also many of the BOTM winning old zones have been updated to the new code.

Only level 53-54 Builders are eligible for this title, it is not awarded to Head Builders or Assistant Head Builders, since these are receiving credits for their work by their higher Level. As a consequence, many of the best zones in 4D are not in the BOTM list.
