« on: April 19, 2009, 09:13:26 pm »
Hayato asked about trees so I am posting the information here. Now there is an bug in the hp tree which will need to get fixed.

pine / oak -> speed
elm/ironwood -> hp (Right now might give negative hp instead of positive hp)
elder / fir -> Mana (Might give - mana)
willow -> cha
maple -> int
dogwood -> wis

The modifier for each tree is dependent on its age. If the trees are too young, you will not get any special affects, however, the older the tree, the greater the affect will be.

Trees now do not give negative modifiers.

Since horus brought it up, I'd like to suggest there to be some random factor to the stats on the trees.  Of course the base amount still depends on the tree's age, but currently, every single petrified oak tree gives exactly 97 speed.

I think there could be some variation, like the balances on weapons.  And the older the tree, the bigger the variation, so you can get as low as 80 speed on the above staff, but also as high as 110 (like the helpfile suggests)
