Thanks to Fae for the squeaky clean log. A note blows into the room.
Kitolani steps on the piece of paper with the tip of her boot as it sweeps
across the train's arrival platform.
Kitolani sweeps down and snatches the floating note as it tries once again
to escape with the fury of the wind from a passing train.
Kitolani mutters toward the crowd but stops short as she notices it has her
name written on it with ink the color of stale blood.
Read note
There is something written on it:
***************************************************************
*Hey Kitolani, *
* *
*It's urgent, I need your help with something, would take too *
*long to explain in this letter. Come QUICK! *
* *
*Meet me at the lodge in Sherwood Forest. *
* *
*Sincerely, *
*(Name is to sloppy to read) *
***************************************************************Kitolani squints hard. It could be Hesara. The words 'urgency and Hesara'
mixed badly in Kit's mind as she made her way back along the crowds to the
rift.
A Lodge
[ Exits: w ]
There's a small, wooden lodge in the forest. There is no furniture in here,
just the stamped earth floor, and a pile of sacks and straw in a corner,
apparently somebody's bed.
A wooden chest stands in the corner.
A fireplace made from stone is set against the east wall.
Kitolani shouts, 'Hesara!?'
Faeryl hides within the lodge.
Kitolani arrives from the west, riding a fierce painted warhorse.
Kitolani jumps off of Tenaya and she whinnies at her in warning.
Faeryl comes out from hiding and blocks the doorway.
Kitolani rests her hand on her holster and grins.
Kitolani states, 'Faeryl. Certainly not who I was expecting.'
Faeryl states, 'Well well if it isn't the one that has custody of the drow
child.'
Faeryl sneers at Kitolani.
Kitolani walks toward the fireplace and leans on the wall, still smiling.
Faeryl ask, 'Where is the child?'
Faeryl looks at Kitolani.
Kitolani states, 'Could be anywhere.'
Kitolani states, 'I've had it in the protective custody of several of my
trusted tribesmen.'
Kitolani states, 'For just such an occasion.'
Faeryl growls.
Faeryl plays with her spiders.
Kitolani walks away from the fireplace and into the center of the room.
Faeryl states, 'This is almost pointless.'
Kitolani states, 'You seem to have a mighty strong interest in the thing.'
Faeryl says, 'That I do'
Kitolani asks, 'Why don't you just find a nice man-drow to mate with?'
Kitolani states, 'Have a few of your own.'
Kitolani smirks at Faeryl.
Faeryl mutters, 'There's not ma...'
Faeryl glare icily at Kitolani.
You say, 'Lolth wants that child'
Kitolani states, 'If you're looking for the child to deliver it to your
mistress, you're going to let her down.'
Faeryl says, 'but not for sacrifice'
Kitolani states, 'She will not have it at her disposal for any means.'
Kitolani states, 'Sacrifice or slave. Not even as an honored son.'
Kitolani states, 'Her interest in the child cannot be without folly.'
Faeryl walks up to you and places her hand on your arm.
Faeryl says, 'Indeed it is not for folly'
Kitolani states, 'I can only imagine.'
Kitolani reaches over and removes your hand gingerly.
Faeryl grins.
Kitolani maintains her distance by walking back toward the fireplace.
Kitolani states, 'This is not to be bourne. The child is mine.'
Faeryl drops a black widow spider.
Kitolani shudders as their face scrunches at some horrid thought.
The spider weaves a web over the door.
Faeryl states, 'You know there is no need for weapons either.'
Kitolani stops using a cutthroat knife.
Kitolani states, 'Of course not.'
Faeryl asks, 'Where is the child?'
Kitolani looks around the lodge for any other exits.
Kitolani states, 'That's priviledged information.'
Faeryl slightly bows her head and casts a spell to paralyze Kitolani from the
waist down.
Faeryl asks, 'Really?'
Kitolani says, 'Really. You may as well paralyze my mouth next.'
Faeryl states, 'Because I would love to know where he is at.'
Kitolani states, 'I would send you to the darkest reaches of space.'
You mutter, 'before you would give the likes of me that child...'
Kitolani states, 'Look for him in a crater on the moon. Look for him behind a
billion blinding stars.'
Kitolani states, 'For he is jumping from galaxy to galaxy, as never to be
found.'
You smirk.
Faeryl walks up to Kitolani.
Kitolani looks at you.
You state, 'You may have won this time Kitolani.'
Kitolani frowns.
You say, 'But that child will be Lolth's'
Kitolani states, 'Nobody wins when Llolth is concerned.'
Faeryl places a spider on Kitolani's shoulder.
Kitolani reaches over and eats the spider, crunching loudly.
Kitolani states, 'Ew.'
Kitolani spits it out.
Faeryl smirks.
Faeryl says, 'But perhaps you are telling the truth since I haven't heard that
whing brat once yet'
Kitolani states, 'I have kept him well hidden, but if I see any unusual
traffic on the prairies, you'll be meeting me again.'
Faeryl casts a fireball at the web that has been spun in the doorway,
disintergrating it instantly.
Faeryl picks up a black widow spider.
Faeryl turns to leave.
Kitolani exclaims, 'Hey!'
Kitolani states, 'I want my legs.'
Faeryl asks, 'Oh you can't walk?'
Faeryl says, 'Such a pity'
Kitolani grins.
Kitolani states, 'Such a clever drow.'
Faeryl asks, 'perhaps you'll tell me where the child is?'
Kitolani states, 'Perhaps another time.'
Kitolani blows Faeryl a kiss.
Faeryl says, 'Don't worry about that Kitolani'
Kitolani states, 'I worry about nothing.'
Kitolani winces at her tingling legs.
Kitolani states, 'Stay off the prairie.'
Kitolani quickly scans the area.
Faeryl pulls her cloak tighter and just before bursting into spiders she
releases the paralysis.
Kitolani howls in tremendous pain and like an answering falcon, Kotori
screeches from within one of the many leather slings she is wearing.
Kitolani states, 'You're no dummy. We're going to have to hide you on
Tatooine or something, where you'll blend in with the rest of the mutants.'
Kitolani winces sadly and hitches up Tenaya onward and upward toward home.
