Your kill count goes to -100 after you win a deed so you actually have to leave a zone and return to repop deeds Virisin. Maybe you're thinking of the old system when it very first came in?

One thing I've seen in other games that I always kind of liked was a "fight timer". For 30 seconds after any initiation of combat, whether mob or PK you couldn't quit or recall. We could probably play around with this relatively easily.

Can you guys upload PSDs (if you have them) when you guys submit a banner that way other people can take your work and try to run with it by using GIMP or Photoshop.

Guys,

We're getting a little sidetracked here. Let's not toss the baby out with the bath water. !Recall on an entire zone -- probably a horrible idea. But, the concept of zone wide deed affects has potential.

What are affects that we all think would be cool and balanced? How can we make this work?

A quick design note for you guys:

Banners should be at least 720px in width and should not exceed 90px in height ( some exceptions may be made ).
Banners should be high quality and we will be taking note of color schemes used in the banner art that complement the TMC color palette.
These banners will link to the mud's homepage, so those homepages should be reachable and in working order ( eg not a placeholder or bare website ).


The key parts are we need our banners to be 720px wide and 90px high in order to fit into Mudconnect. The darker theme looks like it'll work off the bat on the color scheme. I also think we need to submit banners that don't have watermarks otherwise we're watering down our brand.

Because that'd involve having the forum and the mud integrated in a far more intensive fashion which would probably take at least 4 - 10 hours of active development time (which is probably better spent elsewhere). 

I think we should look at upgrading the forum software as I know there's a lot of good SMF modules out there, or look at other Forum software altogether (most have SMF database import utilities) which would give us a lot more tools to put to use not just with regards to spam but with making the forum and community side of this more interesting.

You can make a banner easily using something such as GIMP http://www.gimp.org  or Photoshop's Free trial http://www.adobe.com

Part of that list aren't even at the 10 year mark period, much less 10 active years. The players who've kept the game fresh should be rewarded alongside the oldies otherwise it's just ancient navel gazing. We should approach it from the dynamic of "what do we want to encourage?". What is the value we're trying to drive?
