Either way, I am just trying to get some feedback out there since all the GMs and people that have been here since before the changes prolly wont mind much since geographicly they know how to navigate the mud.
Umm.. right.  Let's just say that right now I'm glad I'm IMM and not mortal.  This reminds me a lot of the zone flags that hardly anyone is trying to find.  I love other games that you play that  you have to search out so and so in such and such town but this isn't that sort of game.  Having to track down a trainer both makes sense (in an RP/IC way) and is very time consuming even when you're given most of the information.  I guess I would suggest that if you want to try out the skills/spells, you should try one of our gladiators - provided we still have them somewhere.

That site's lame. It's also about 4 years out of date. TBA Helpfiles > builderacademy's Oasis pages.

It's also easier for me to find things on there than to try to figure out what to request help on when I'm on TBA.  I know, I could just go "Rumble, I'm looking for this, what to I ask for on help?" but I like to be able to find it myself.  I'm sure there's some easy way.. wanna share it?

I think that perhaps to promote roleplaying, we should let those with the RP flag set their own walkin/walkout.  Dunno if this is able to be done or not, but it seems if we want to promote roleplaying, the little things like this may be a place to start.  I'd still save the pretitle (and a few other things) as something you'd have to roleplay to get award points to buy.  As I'm writing this, I'm thinking Hmm... can players do this already or not?  It's been so long since I've really played and even then I never used all of the things we could do.

I played on a mud that had specific times for Double XP (usually on the weekends).  It's amazing how many players they had at those times - because everyone wanted the double xp.  They also would randomly scatter "tickets" or things around the mud and give rewards to those that found the most (probalby second most and third as well).  I keep asking about the randomly scattering code, but maybe I'll just have to break down and script something.  *heh*

Umm.. yeah... :P

been there, done that.  I'm probalby the one that gave you that address.  That's the address i go to when I say Oasis OLC.  I was just confused between enter and greet due to the fact that it seemed at the time that enter should work when a player enters a room, not when the mob enters a room.  I was wrong. I do have an idea what I'm doing when I script, but most of my info for quick lookup is on my laptop which I haven't been able to use since I moved to dialup.

Because you all think I know how to do what I want...  And usually I think that too.  It's when they fail that I begin getting buggy about it.  *peers around innocently*  Once you got your script to work, I realized that it must be in one of my assumptions and figured that was it (hence the visit to Oasis instead of TBA).

While I think the idea has merit, I do have to question the need of people to belong to so many groups.  I mean, my thoughts is that the groups should be limited otherwise you're going to have people running around with their titles/rpgroups/flags/etc taking up 3 lines every time you do a who.

Well, oddness.. if I do the script Fizzy did on 4D game port then it works.  which means my error must be in... something else...

I tried that first.  the actor.sub thingy was the second thing Mord had suggested that night.  Though, the way my luck runs, I'll probably change it back and it'll work.  *mutters as she begins looking for the script Mord's put in so she can't do scripts right the first time*

I think Prometheus voted against the aura thing because of the detect alignment spell.  If everyone knew if everyone was good/evil/neutral, then what's the use of the spell - there wouldn't be one.  Currently detect alignment has the (blue aura) or (red aura) after the player's name and title (and before the mob's it seems), but in no different color than the name.

Going along with Leo's idea though, could we put color coded into the score?  So that while you're neutral, your alignment (whether it's numbers or words) would remain the color of the rest of your score.  If you go evil it's highlighted in red and if you're good it's highlighted in white (or some such - wouldn't want it to black out the number/word because the highlights the same color as the text).  Hmm.. just checked out help color and it seems we don't have highlight - bah.  I guess then instead of highlight just have the numbers/words change color as above - red for evil, white for good.

My 1 cent.  Wasn't even worth 2.

The second script currently is just checking to make sure its actually putting the subskill on the player.  Once I know it's working, I'm going to make sure that they don't already have dragonmastery when they say the phrase.  Just right now the second script isn't doing anything, which I'm taking as the first script isn't putting the subskill on.  So, if my phrasing and scripting is right... why not?  Are the subskills there to be put on players?

Ok, I've got the following script and don't know if it's working.  Either it is and I can't figure out how to make the script to check the subskill or it isn't setting the subskill.  Would appreciate help.  (yes, I know this isn't the full script.  The if's before this elseif are other speech's.)  Or, I suppose another option could be that the skill I'm trying to set isn't actually set up as a skill.
