I like the idea about invited Clan friends. Isn't there already something in the Clan code that can declare the Clan at war with or ally with another Clan?
If not there should be, and that could set a flag on the respective kind which in turn could be recognised by some entrance script.

And speaking of scripts, opening the clanhalls to raids would demand removing ot modifying the evict scripts that most Clanhalls seem to have. I just had to put a check for level 52+ on the Vikings evict script, since it made it impossible for me to work on the Clanhall without being thrown out. I remember doing the same to the Chaos Clanhall in the past. Very irritating - and, I'm sure, very effective.

I am hoping that Once is actually working on the open Clanhall feature, since we have now implemented some vital steps.

Well, the list was given to me by players, (I think Jaros and Hayato contributed most), so I'm not even sure if it is accurate or complete, it would be exceedingly tedious to check all quests.

Anyone can collect extra spares of a one-time item, if they take the trouble of creating a new char and levelling it up untill it is strong enough to finish the quest. Since their old char has the flag, they'll be able to use it.

This is why we weren't particularly eager to remove the one-time quests - after all, they probably were made one-time for a reason by the Builder. But since we decided to give in to the whining, and since it is possible to get multiple items in other ways, so...

Well, I can agree that many of the later built zones have equipment that is a bit too good, and that's even after we put the stats down a couple of steps, before allowing the zone in.
Regrettably that is what almost all builders do, to attract players to their zones - and regrettably that's how it works too. (And I don't remember your zone being any exception to that rule, by the way). All new zones want to have at least one piece that is better than the existing, and the more zones we get, the more it escalates of course, which is why the newer ones generally are a bit too good.

So you want me to nerf the VE watch?
Because that is what is going to happen, if I do any changes.
And I can direct all the whiners to you?

I might think about adding some other stat to the cincture, but I don't really want to raise the damroll on it.
And if I just make the cincture better the escalation continues.
It's really a quite tough choice to make.

Oh, and by the way, both the watch and the cincture are waist, not hips.

I don't think any of our current players has actually been able to piece together the top version of Exoliath's armor, so how they can determine whether it's worth the effort or not beats me.

Perhaps because it really IS hard to get. Many of the parts have 3 different qualities, so you need to find the best one for each part to get the top gear.

As for the serpent skin and the achilles heel, they are for different wear_locs. Although the skin has several wear_locs, none of those are feet or ankle.

Actually they are supposed to have timers like the rest of them. There is also supposed to be "arti-save" rooms in all Clanhalls, where the timers stop ticking down. This will prevent hoarding and promote sharing with clannies, hopefully.

But the new artifact code isn't quite finished yet. Hopefully it will be soon, since Once seems to be back doing some job on the code.

Are there any one-time quests for gear? i haven't seen any in my travels.

There are a few one-time quests for gear leftstill , but they will be fixed eventually.

Graham is working on it, so don't give up hope.

Stile has asked for a KOTM, and since Prom is away presently, I'm gonna need some input from you players about how to best organise it.
So what would you prefer?
All against all or a knockout competition?
Or a hybrid between the two?
We have also discussed the possiblilties of a Team or Clan competition, where teams of 2 or 3 players battle each other.
Anyhow, I guess this is all dependant on how many competitors we get, so let's wait and see.

The orchard is run by a script that loads different trees for each season, and also purges any already existing trees at each reset, so it would be too complicated having it load more than one per room.

You'll have to do your main lumberjacking somewhere else. There are after all hundreds of trees all over the place.

By the way, do the fruit trees load the right log? If so, at least something works with that code, (I've set those manually).

And if you see Thotter before me, point him to this thread and ask him to fix the damn logs in the code. Should be a pretty simple operation according to Graham's post.

The trees in the orchard are "seasonal", so they are type tree in the seasons winter, spring and summer, and then turn to containers in autumn, so they can bear fruit.

Observant of you to notice though, although you didn't get the full extent. :)

I'd let it ride.

It is actually a quote from some old Egyptian inscription, and the typo - if it is a typo - is also in the source.

My guess is that it might mean "ebony wood",  since that's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense in the context.
Although it's a weird typo.


Perhaps there was some tree called mry in those days, who knows?
