As for the deeds - don't exaggerate! They don't repop 80 times in 10 minutes, only when the mobs and the zone resets, which for most zones, except newbie zones, means every 2 hours. Sure, you can collect some spares, and delay dropping them in the deed box, but you cannot keep the spares forever, or they go poof. Anyhow, collecting the spares in advance and setting up for someone to drop them at the right moment would be part of the strategy. Possibly mostly used in Clan wars, (if we ever get those running), but still an extra spice to PK.

Are you sure? I know I've collected two deeds for the same zone whilst levelling and within about 2 minutes of each other quite a few times... Could have been a random coincidence that the zone repopped at some stage in those 2 minutes but I don't remember the mobs all repopping.

Now there's an idea for crafting if I ever saw one.

I like the gist, but they need to be less powerful summons, maybe like 'zone elementals' with different powers based on how many deeds

Not a bad idea but it'd be better if you further abstracted it from Star Wars and the force. Some kind of opposing forces, potentially more than 2.. Souls etc.

I actually agree with Bane, some of those flags are very powerful to let players just bestow them upon a zone for any amount of time...  Maybe rooms, but not whole zones for the big ones like !magic.

Meh, doesn't really bother me but you know as well as I do that this will end up being a long-term fix and it won't change again now for a good few years. May aswel give Gypsy encircle too.

Explain to me why it makes the mud look bad.

Pix' idea is much more interesting, clearly he's actually put more than 5 seconds into thinking it up.

Rather than making every class be able to kill the same mob in the same amount of time, we SHOULD be trying to change the speed of the kills.

Hunter/Mage's should be dealing LARGE damage, and closing down fights fast before they take too much damage themselves.
Warrior/Priest's should be dealing LOW damage, and slowly wearing their opponents down, being able to take significant damage without feeling much.
Ranger/Esper's should be dealing MEDIUM damage, and evading more attacks than not.
Thieves should be able to perform CRITICAL damage with backstabs, but be almost useless at hand-to-hand combat.

Gypsy's should be trying to convince people not to attack them...

Your suggestion is going the wrong direction Bane, you just want every class to be able to kill all the same mobs in the same period of time. Bad strategy.

Level 42 has always been the midpoint in a remort, and I legitimately have never, ever heard anyone complain about it.

I simply don't see the point changing it if you want the overall TNL to stay as it is..

Ok I'll elaborate:

You can get 10-15 levels right off the bat if you're a GM and have just remorted again and kill a level 100 mob for 15mill exp...

Have you ever seen a newbie get that many levels in one kill? Some of your other suggestions seem to be framed in a way that you're trying to help newbies, how would altering the equation - if you intend that the same overall TNL will still apply - in a way that makes it harder to get the first few levels than it is now, and easier to get the last few levels than it is now, be a benefit to ANYONE except highly remorted players who are sick of losing motivation at around level 47..

The curve is a pretty standard gaming curve, things are easy as you get started, and harder as you progress.

What do you mean 'different combat skills for each class'... So instead of all the classes having kick, we do what we did with behead/cleave/thrust/encircle and just give them all different names? If you want all the classes to have a unique fighting style then you're going about it entirely the wrong way: looking at the Gypsy's and going, 'Hmm, they are slow and shitty compared to other classes in the low tiers if you don't remort into them from a kicking class... They should probably just get kick.' - is a useless way of fixing things.

For starters, Gypsy's arn't even meant to be a super powerful class, they have economic skills that make them a valuable class to everyone that knows them without having to try and make them equal to a Thief or Ranger in combat.

Ehhh.. Just give Gypsy's kick it's easier than anything else.

You cannot seriously believe this is a short-term fix..

Though I guess it's not such a bad thing, maybe the route to a classless system is actually to just give every class every skill and spell.
