At the very least it's going to make me laugh.

Hm.

We should advertise 4dimensions more *nod*

For some reason I pulled this idea out of my ass... seeing as I'm a photographer...

You tell Asper, 'think I might go nudge one of my hot friends that I know to do a bikini shoot promoting 4dimensions. If nothing else itd make me laugh that some hot chick is half naked all for a text based game. Might work on the nerds. *laugh* Although.. all the hot friends I know are in brisbane. hm'

You tell Asper, '4dimensions! It's so good it gets hot aussie chicks half naked!'

I might ask around in perth, but I don't many good looking people here yet. Doesn't seem to be much talent around.

Otherwise, next time i fly back to brisbane, I'll line up a shoot with.. hmm *thinks* Jaymie. She's always up for looking sexy. Very lovely and vain girl that one.

Whatcha guys think? Want some "tame" sexy adds with a 4dimensions sign to make everyone chuckle and make the nerds flock to us? *grin*

"If you play 4d you'll meet girls like this!"
(not really)...

BTW: Jaymie:

If nothing else, it'd make me laugh. And jay would get a good kick out of it too. Haha.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Grouping
« on: June 17, 2008, 04:40:53 am »
BTW, the level penalty system could be varied. Outside of 10 level range diff = a certain percentage of experience gets dropped.

Outside of 15 levels, a larger percentage of exp drop.

Outside of 20 level range, larger percentage drop.

so on and so forth. Perhaps outside of 40 level range diff means like 1exp point, if any at all.

But as long as you're inside of 10 levels of eachother, you can group and still get normal exp as you would alone, you just kill faster.

15 levels is still doable, just a tiny bit less exp per person.

.. get the idea?

I miss the old system too. It's part the reason I don't group.

That, and i never group with nat anyway due to rp.. but i do kinda miss hunting in groups.

maybe with a 10 level range exp penalty.. might be a compromise... the ability to hunt together and level up, without the major risk of powerlevelling - ie lvl 50 powerlevelling a lvl 1 noob.

grouping kinda adds some atmosphere too. Might sound silly, but i think it does anyway...

Ah I miss the old days :)

Yeah. Can we go back to the old group system?

To attempt to help stop powerlevelling..

How about a level-range system for groups.

Say if the people in the group are outside a 5 or 10 level range of eachother, there will be an exp penalty. IE, no one gets experience points.

... Run with that idea perhaps? I have to head off else I'd try explain further.

*shrug* Not the greatest idea in the world anyway.

RE Honor system, I remember speaking to you about that like a year ago, when I was trying to think of how to do it myself.

I'll be doing something similar myself, I hope, with vampires. It's just the HOW to do it which needs to be defined.

It is a good idea though, because I like to "push" my members to new heights. But I'd like to be able to reward my members for what they do too, and new challenges they fulfill..

Just a few things, because some other people have already said things I agree with, no point in me repeating, and as usual I'm doing many things at once...

Regarding CL inactivity, when I took over CL of vamps, I implemented the only thing I think we can currently "do" to try ensure we dont have clans without CLs. There's no set way to manage this without IMM involvement really, but the problems mainly seem to happen when CLs come back from being inactive and chucking a fit.

In Vampires, in a nutshell version, I have layed down set rules and procedures a CL should follow. If a CL becomes inactive for x amount of time, they are to be replaced, and demoted. It's effectively a contract. By taking the position of CL, you accept that if not active for longer than 4 weeks, you will be removed from CL, and the CCL, next highest member, or member voted for CL by other members (OR selected as the "next CL") will come into play.

In vampires, I have already expressed who I'd like to be CL, should I become inactive. First and second choice even. Everyone is aware of the rules.

I have also laid out "application systems" for anyone who wishes to apply for being CL, whether the current one is active or not. Many different variables come into this, and a lot of detail which I won't go into here.

Running a clan is more than just sitting around, occasionally recruiting. I think a lot of clans would run smoother if they had some procedures and policies in place. That way, if it is set in stone, and imms do end up having to follow the instructions left BY the CL in the first place, they cant get in trouble, and the "inactive" CL just needs to accept it.

Cant play, dont step up to the job.

Any of my members are welcome to apply for the CL position from me, should they desire.
And if I am not sufficiently active, I will be replaced.

Lay some rules down for your clan, people.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Recall - Controversial Idea!
« on: May 23, 2008, 06:27:23 pm »
I didnt read past this point, cause I havent slept, Ive had too much coffee, and Im doing 50 things at once.

But.. virisin.. for the first time ever.. i love you.

"I want to remove the whole recall area from the mud setting itself. I want player characters to ALWAYS be either in one of the dimensions, in their house set in one of the dimensions, or in their clans set in one of the dimensions.".

AGREED, GOD DAMNIT.

I've been quietly saying that for a year or two now.

*cheers this idea on*

Sadly though, Im not sure if itd work too well. We dont have a big playerbase.

Id still dearly love to see this happen. God how I'd love to see it happen. So much more realistic...

[EDIT] *quickly scans over the rest*.. not so hot on the spirit idea. I'd rather people find their own new socializing spots in dimensions. Sit under trees and chat, or find cool caves to sit in. On dragonrealms, the massive mud I USED to play, I used to go off and find secret little spots that I'd sit in that were so cool. I've -always- wanted that in 4d.

Liking the timetraps idea, but I'd like some more "permanent" known ways to get through dimensions too. If not some kind of device, spell, parchment, i dont know, something, or at least set teleporting gates in each dimension...

Where are the "5 required members" for this group to be started?

RE forceplay.. this is my own fault.. I put forward an idea a couple of months ago that will/would eliminate forceplay, and allow players to effectively choose what they do and don't find acceptable.

But it takes a lot of work and writing up and I haven't gotten round to it.

I'll start work on it next week once I'm back from my holiday, as my plane leaves in 24 hours from now.

Yes. Btw. I'm back. And outside of my work hours, I'll be active again, and trying to get things done..

Short response. Tired and unwell.

1. Drop some of the rp groups. IE "Galliano" - theres only one member? What of the Fearless group, also? Theres not even any "historical" members cause the group just started. As said above, takes 5 members to start a group.
2. RP groups DO mean roleplaying. I noticed Bitches were one of the groups brought up. And I for one know I'm called a bitch pretty much any time I'm logged on. I'm doing my job. Hesara has her awesome ways, and Kitolani RPs as well.
3. Family groups inside other groups = no thankyou, too much, too many groups, pick one. Seriously. Molly's right, there's no real need to have family rp groups. The only reason Orsini and such is around because that name -is- legendary as far as the game history goes.
4. Rayne was never in two groups. She left the Bitches RP group to join the Orsini group, and had "ever the BITCH" in her title.
5. Don't know what else was said. Can't be assed reading or replying.

Cut down on the groups, specially the newly created ones that only have like one member when being created.

People stop creating so many groups, at the very least, we don't have a big enough playerbase to fully support all these groups. We have enough problems trying to get people into clans.. *sigh*

I havent killed sweeney yet. Couldn't be bothered at the time.

I only mentioned him cause apparently Xeri died a number of times to him and said sweeney was tough.

And given xeri is a relatively strong player I just figured perhaps sweeney is a bit tough.

Guess I'm wrong in my assumption :p

Oh, I know Mord, I wasn't arguing, I was just pointing out the obvious situations where EXP loss can be a pain :p
