I got some newbies complaining about not being able to tell when they are
good aligned or bad aligned. I explained them that between -350 to -1000
you're considered BAD and between 350 and 1000 you're considered good, else
you're neutral. They complained that the help file is not well written about
align. I'm giving you a coding suggestion to add to the score command.
It's 4 different views of how it could look.

Could be different messages for different align stages, would be fun.
Even more fun would be if align status could appear as an affect.

Why even have a number at all? Just have it say Align:Good/Neutral/Evil instead of giving numbers.
On a side note, I always thought the help files on it was fine. I mean, how hard is it to translate this:
"Alignment can range from 1000 to -1000, 1000 being very good and -1000 evil.
An alignment between 350 en -350 is considered neutral."
That says exactly what you explained to them - That is in help alignment.

Not sure if we want to have an aura for that. Detect align would show that. But putting N E G shouldn't be too hard to do.

Maybe it's the 'en' typo. 'en' means something else in languages like French.

Going along with Leo's idea though, could we put color coded into the score? So that while you're neutral, your alignment (whether it's numbers or words) would remain the color of the rest of your score. If you go evil it's highlighted in red and if you're good it's highlighted in white (or some such - wouldn't want it to black out the number/word because the highlights the same color as the text). Hmm.. just checked out help color and it seems we don't have highlight - bah. I guess then instead of highlight just have the numbers/words change color as above - red for evil, white for good.
My 1 cent. Wasn't even worth 2.

Yeah, I think the color idea is also very good. So you don't have to retouch the ASCII art of the score command. I prefer visualization over information. If I can visualize something instead of reading it, I appreciated it more.
I still stand for the glowing aura idea though even if it was downvoted by an Imm. It would be very interesting to see someone which is -1000 align walking leaving flames behind, or someone with +1000 align leaving heavenly trails. Or can know their align by the glow around them. Since a detect align spell exists, you could make the spell stand as an effect, and when I have it on me I can see the bad or good glows of players. I'd personally like it, and think it makes it all more interesting. Example PKers would start considering which spells are better to use VS someone bad or good aligned etc..

I think Prometheus voted against the aura thing because of the detect alignment spell. If everyone knew if everyone was good/evil/neutral, then what's the use of the spell - there wouldn't be one. Currently detect alignment has the (blue aura) or (red aura) after the player's name and title (and before the mob's it seems), but in no different color than the name.
