I'm not certain if imm commands can be used in scripts but, the command to restring an item is this... string object short <what you want it to look like>

So to restring your Achilles heel  you'd type string object heel some old worn out running shoes

This would make your Achilles heel look like some old worn out running shoes.

Again, not certain or how this command can be used in scripts but I actually have an idea...
Maybe have a mob. Mob is set to imm level to do restrings does string command and then returns to normal level? I'll play with it after my test tomorrow. Back to studying..

Why should there be limits on how many tps can be traded? You can trade limitless gold and tokens, why not tradepoints. Trade is part of its name after all. By definition should they not be points that can be traded?

If people are worried about abuse. Then simply can add a lock to it, a way for hero's or imms to blacklist people who abuse the machine. Just have a list of set rules of do's and don'ts and if people want to overstep their bounds the their loss. Also can make it so it's only available after 1st Remort. So people don't just make level 1 alts to use it.

I suggested on an earlier thread on a item restring machine. You bring the item, any item, and you can restring the item by doing a special command phrase like... restring gauntlet some bloody knuckles

That would string your gauntlet item to look like some bloody knuckles.

This would give the players the ability to restring any item, even non perzables, and have a completely unique set of eq to fit their RP. Don't have to see every melee person out there with an Achilles' Heel anymore because it's non perzable. You see them with socks, or shoes, or boots, or mittens on their feet.

This of course would also make the imms jobs a lot easier because they wouldnt have to always have to do stuff for the players, they may be needed for perzes themselves, scripts and rooms for now, but restrings, could be a thing of the past for them.

Thoughts?

Yes, I'm uncertain what could've happened. The entrances to the mine or room exits in these two rooms vanished leading down. I am uncertain to what rooms they led to exactly, just that they led to a room in the loose sand layer of the mine. Simply pick a loose sand room at random and connect the room to it, but not a connection leading back up. Just down into the mine is needed. Really only one of the two rooms would need an entrance, but there used to be two for variety I guess. The two rooms that had exits leading into the loose sand layer are vnums as follows: 1417 and 1420

Agreed, clan halls would be nice to be opened up. Defenses would also be a great gold sink to clear up all this extra gold floating about.

That was just the only way in always. As long as I've ever mined we could never start tunneling in the gold mine. maybe the rooms have flags of those types which allow it? I've tried to start tunneling in Whotvar, haven't tried Thasos/Nisyrus or the Sutter Mines but I dont think we can tunnel into the main mines from them. There was always only two entrances on in one room and one in the room north of that room. The entrances closed up and now there is no entrance. With a quick OLC fix, they would be accessible. Without having to dive into a ton of code that doesn't really affect many people as is. Since tunneling does work, but I think it is low priority in relation to other things that need fixed. OLC = 2 minutes. Coding solution = days perhaps.

I agree with Riley, tradepoints should be tradeable. They are a currency so why can't someone sell or give tradepoints they have to another player?

Sure the mines are buggy, but mining/tunneling works, however the mines are inaccessible because the entrances are gone. Maybe they are gone due to a bug, but I think they could just be olc'd back in, and then it's fixed. Other than that, focus should probably go elsewhere for the time being as mining fixes are mostly cosmetic and nuisances.

Also if that were it's only purpose it isn't popular by any means, has never been. Therefore needs to be made better to make it worthwhile or the work already done with it was a waste of time as is?
