Newbie Helpers
« on: May 14, 2008, 01:18:58 am »
Since we have a > for players who have logged on for the last two minutes, would it be possible for newbie helpers to be informed when a player of a certain level logs on?

Was thinking, if a Seeker of below level 20 logs on, someone with the helper flag gets something like: *Virisin, a level 15 rogue/fighter/caster, has just logged on*

I love being used as examples. When you think 4dimensions - you think Virisin! :D

Yeah, sounds like a nifty idea. I imagine it'd be toggleable. Much like syslog and stuff for imms.

Actually: before Fizban sees that last post and lectures me on how it's nothing like syslog, 'much like syslog in the way that imms see when players log in.' :D

Yeah I know..I get my inspiration by typing look.

It was either that or "The Recall Bulletin Board, a level 15 noticeboard, has just logged in!"

Didn't we talk about this on the old forum and it was decided it would be a good idea and perhaps one day in the future it'd be implemented?  I seem to remember Sol, Prom and I were very for it.  So again.. I think it'd be a great idea and hope to see it soon... in the future... sometime... but not holding my breath.

Kvetch is right, this was already agreed upon on the old forum.

Time for the coders to do the rest.

Something that the Newbie helpers should be doing is to keep track on the board in their office of who gets the voucher reward.
Just to stop alts  from collecting the reward over and over again.

They have their own office?

They deserve it.  The newbie helpers are great.  I don't know how much it would cost to put a Starbucks in there, but I'll put up a bronze towards it.

I always had sent my notes to Solana of who got them, because she was the leader helper, but then once I realized she was kind of actually gone I am posting them  on the Helper's Board. I have no way of telling someone is an alt, even by using my little questions drill, as people lie. Soooo, any objection Prometheus that all Helpers send you whoever gets the voucher reward, and how many?  That way your justice could be carried out if an alt decided to sneak through?

I have no objections to Newbie Helpers noting me when you give rewards as well. It helps to have more than one source.
