Some Skills
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:07:32 pm »
I reckon brace + parry should be moved to tier 3 or 4 skills. They're both uber, at least as powerful as phase + dodge which are already tier 3 skills.. And it means a GM fighter gets parry + brace.. And a GM rogue gets parry + brace + dodge + phase. It's kinda an unfair advantage to one GM over another..

I know most GM's these days are stupid and don't take advantage of these things, but yeah.. I think it should be changed.

Dunno why I'm posting this here but.. Holy shield is bugged. It's only hitting long weapons when it's meant to hit long + short weapons. Moooooord, where are you. I must pester you with imbalances.

One skill should at least be moved there, either parry, or either brace. Can't be both, how would a newbie warrior survive?

I'm thinking it may be better to even leave some skills at tier 2 that are so to not hurt the original classes, but create a flag that allows GM's to not have skills or spells flagged in such a way regardless of their level/tier.

Why not just remove GM all together. It's more trouble than it's worth.  :P Trust me, we could have such a cool system if there wasn't GM. It would be even cooler if we removed tiers.. But we could do a sweet tier system without GM aswel.

But yeah.. Some skills and spells need to be made not to work on GM's.. GM should just be a convenience, not such a scale tipper. Skills like brace that arn't available on spells or anything, shouldn't be available to any old GM.. GM's should just get spells and stuff that could otherwise be found on potions that are already out there.

Not overly fond of GM myself, won't lie, but not sure that removing GM would get nearly as much support as a smaller change that allowed some spells/skills to not be available to them.

I also agree that as long as GM exists, move brace and parry to tier 3. Rogues getting phase dodge brace and parry and while holy shield only works on long weapons (and fighters are only good with) rogue classes have a huuuuge advantage.
