Fragments of a shattered Halo (plot)
« on: March 20, 2012, 02:57:04 pm »
(Please pay attention to this plot if you are a vampire or a saint-this plot will involve you!)

"One mistake, just one mistake." Sarias glanced at her complexion in the mirror and sighed. Her eyes had shadows from the lack of sleep she experienced throughout the night. "If only I had listened to the rational part of my brain." Her mutterings continued as her reflection seemingly mocked her words.

One night, one intense moment of unthinking passion would possibly tear apart the relationship she had created. Sarias reached up and dragged her fingers through her wild locks, before pushing the mirror angrily off the stand. Her reflection shattered with its taunting presence. The pieces, scattered on the floor, were remnants of her betrayal.

The elven woman set her lips into a hard line as another wave of nausea flashed over her. She had to take matters into her own hands, she knew the vampiric bastard would ruin her. She could hear his horrible sarcasm mocking her. "I must write candy about this, she would know how to handle this." She said in a matter-of-factly tone as she headed towards the door. Even if they kidnapped him, it would be safer than letting him run loose. Who knew what kind of trouble he could stir up with his words, especially in front of her Scillian husband. There would be hell to pay if he ever found out.

(This is a short prompt to a sexy, saintly plot. The vampire's leader got her preggers, and she intends on keeping him quiet at any cost. This cost is kidnapping. When he is kidnapped, the plot has started and we will begin from there. Everyone who has a reason to participate icly will obtain a silver token as a thank you. Good luck and consider this war. Hehe.)

A thunderstorm rolled deep within the dark clouds, its booming - massive and daunting. The impending, feral rainstorm shook the glass windows of a humble bar like a scattered applause. However, the occupants seemed not to notice and continued on with their drunken games, except one woman who looked up at the roof with a hint of irk in her emerald eyes. Nature dared to disturb her while she was drawing up a plan of attack? The Elven woman curled her lips into a sneer and scratched down at a piece of parchment in front of her. Her fingers expertly held a red feather quill, as she tried to put meaning behind the inked words. While she was normally a neutral woman, she felt a rush of energy and hate that was inspired by recent events. Yes, pregnant women are known to have crazy mood swings, but this was not one of those things. This was unbridled, passionate desire to pin a dirty deed on that hated individual, and to come out guilt free. The corners of her mouth raised into a small smirk as she contained a haughty laugh. Of course, she had to thank Candy for giving her expertly advice in formulating the plan.

"The woman always knows what to do.." She murmured, drawing more symbols onto the parchment's surface.

Her long lashes hooded her eyes as they retraced the quill's path and created a mental checklist. The choice of tools have already been chosen and were stashed securely in her beloved leather satchel. The location was decided and the premises were secured. The bastard of a victim would be captured and stored there. And of course, her Sicilian husband would be kept at bay with a little lie she would plant in his head. Sarias stared at the remaining emptiness of her parchment and began to tap her quill idly upon it. No one could know it was the Saints that captured him though. Perhaps she would pay off some gossips to plant more lies about the situation? But who else could do such a dastardly thing? Her nose crinkled in thought and she wrote down a few choices - some she scratched out immediately as she wrote it down (cough.. table round... cough). She decided it would be safer to say that the Dark Jedi had ran off with him for ransom. (Though, she wondered if people would actually want to pay money for him.) Her shoulders shrugged and she circled the name twice in an attempt to make up her mind.

"Let us make this happen." Her mouth stated, while her hands folded up the parchment and pocketed safely in the confines of her cloak. Sarias was confident that if performed correctly the task could go over quite well, as long as the people she paid off didn't screw up. She was always wary putting trust in individuals, but decided there was no other option. Figuring that twilight would bathe the town soon, the woman grabbed her bag, and sauntered past the jeering men that tried to touch her. Try. She might add. If they succeeded, they wouldn't be alive. Her hand pushed against the door, stepped out into the rainfall, and disappeared into the anxious, scurrying crowd.

And so it begins...

Tocharaeh says to Janet, 'Bae lookin' fer ah giftie fer mae wifey'

Tocharaeh asks Janet, 'Got ah bit o' sumfin nyce? Sapphire possibly?'

Janet says, 'I'm sorry, we are all fresh out of our Sapphire goods. The mines have been short, what with the Giant Raids and all.'

Tocharaeh nods sadly.

Tocharaeh says, '- Tenks anyway love. -'

Tocharaeh tips is hat smoothly, and walks back out into the street.

Janet wonders whether this ring would look good on her.

Tocharaeh leaves the jewelry shop, and is instantly soaked in the fresh downpour.

Tocharaeh says, '- Gottae fynd sumfin -'

Tocharaeh says, '- She dun run off onae mae, anae ahy dunae know iffin ahy did 'er wrong -'

Tocharaeh says, '- She bae avoidin' mae, anae ahy gottae patch tings up. -'

Tocharaeh says, '- What'te get 'er ahy wonder -'

Tocharaeh says, '- mebe ah' drink will get te mind fluids rushin en, andae ahy'll bae knowin what'll 'elp fix what'r'e ahy did 'er wrongly. Plus, wit all dis 'ere rain, ahy kinnae do much mae tinks. -'

The dark elf makes his way through the streets, picking the best path through the rush of people also trying to escape the seemingly endless rain. He comes before the Blue Dragon Inn, his old haunt, within a few short breaths, and vanishes inside.

The Blue Dragon Inn
[ Exits: n e s w ]
Situated at the prestigious Yorke Square this small Inn has a rather
distinguished clientele. No riff-raff or scum is allowed in here, in fact
Albert, the landlord is allowing himself the right of choosing his own
customers. There is a muscular guard posted at the entrance, ready to
evict any noisy and disturbing yokels. This Inn is for the privileged.
The atmosphere is pleasant but subdued, in here you seldom hear the
drunken bawling and bellowing so common in less distinguished public
houses. The customers here may brag and boast a bit - in fact this is one
of their favorite pastimes - but at least they do so in a civilized
manner, without raising their voices. You can join the group swapping
stories at the bar, or choose one of the three tables for a more private
conversation with good friends.

A board full of messages hangs on the wall.

|@ Sarias Mithrandr (RolePlaying) is standing here.

[T] The innkeeper Albert beams contentedly at his customers.

Sarias gazes down at her map, on the bar table, in front of her. This woman eyes appeared to spark with irritation. She couldn’t find the damned centaur yet in any of his customary areas. How was she to find and capture him without any traces? She furiously scratched off a few places on the map and slumped over the bar in semi-defeat. She had been gone from her husband for two weeks finding this man, what trouble would ensue if her Sicilian started to gain suspicions? She inhaled a little deeper and let out that breath, while permitting her eyes to relax upon the bartender. “Wine please.” He nodded and progressed towards his stash.

Albert tells her, 'That'll be 21 coins, thanks.'

Sarias buys a goblet.

Coming in from the pouring rain outside, Tocharaeh flips his usual signal to the Innkeep for his drink to meet him at his table. Very preoccupied with the worries that plague his mind, the dark elf makes his way straight to his usual spot.

Sarias’s quill lingers to mark at the map as she takes a mouthful of her wine. Wine was her kryptonite, and was entirely unwholesome for the child she was bearing, but she desired something to wrench her mind off of the doubts she was dealing with. These worrisome emotions were not something that the elf was used to having, and she was situating some blame on the hormones swirling in her system. Her green eyes flickered upwards as she notices the bartender move away. Where was he going? She might need more wine!

Table Two
[ Exits: w ]
The table is rather large, long wooden planks perched on trestles. The
table-top is covered in scrawling and scribbling, much of it seems to
be magic formulas of different kinds. It is debatable however whether any
of these incantations really works in praxis, they seem to be more
doodling than anything else. Very sloppy.

The waitress arrives, and quietly leaves an Amaretto Sour before the dark elf, knowing to expect little and ask nothing, she leaves Tocharaeh to his thoughts.

Tocharaeh says, '- Sapphire ainae gonnae bae enouf. Gottae try sometin'. Ach, all te drow enae mae 'as been worn away. Usually ye gottae problem, just kill et. But shae esae mae wyfe, lyfe, annae mae every'tin. -'

Tocharaeh sighs sadly.

Tocharaeh takes a long sip of his sour drink, and settles into the shadows- sulking.

Tocharaeh removes his Great Wide-brimmed Hat, with large Feather Plumes.

Tocharaeh absent-minded, turns his overly exaggerated hat over and over, playing with the large feather and randomly places gems.

Tocharaeh overcome by his feelings of confusion and hopelessness, he dashes his hat to the side, throwing his drink to the floor. It shatters with a loud clatter.

Tocharaeh shouts, 'Bloody 'ell!'

Tocharaeh shouts, 'Barkeep! Bae needin' another! Mek et quick, mae temper bae ah' short one t'day!'

The waitress rushes in with a new glass and brisky places it before the angry dark elf. She quickly cleans the shattered mess, and it out in a flash.

Tocharaeh sighs sadly looking at the glass before his and knows he hasn't the stomach for it. He leaves a silver for the drinks, and a couple of gold for other compensation, and heads back towards the main bar.

[T] The innkeeper Albert beams contentedly at his customers.

The dark elf emerges from his dark table, and says, 'Sorry fer te mess Keep. Bit'o stress as o' late. Left yae proper payment fer ev'ryting.'. He brushes his has slowly and moves to replace it on his sullen head.

Tocharaeh wears a Great Wide-brimmed Hat, with large Feather Plumes on your head.

Sarias perceives something nauseatingly familiar as her ears tune in to the voice. The complexion of her face darkened and she considerably bent her head towards the map. What the hell was he doing in this exact same bar? Did the Gods have some sort of humorous death wish for her? The elven woman bit down on her lip and fiddled with it between her teeth, as she continued to scribble recklessly on the map. He probably did not even notice you there, it is fine. She inaudibly muttered to herself.

The Innkeeper, Albert, walks around the bar nodding understandingly. He and Tocharaeh go back a few hundred years now. He pats the morose dark elf on the shoulders and says, 'What's eating you elf? You ain't your usual self. Much more gray than dark. Business not going well? Ain't talkin' to the old lady?'

With a sigh Tocharaeh responds to Albert, 'Ach, business bae fyb. Boomin' in fact. Costa Nostra ainnae been enae be'r tymes! But, ahy ainae seen mae wyfe fer a fort nite et feels. Dunnae know wut ahy wronged 'er wit. But ahy dun wronged 'er good mae tinks.'

Albert chews a bit on his lower lip and makes a glance over to the woman in question, the source of his friends heartache. But he knows better than to get involved with any drama of costa nostra, and the capo's wife. But he gives her an eye of acknowledgement.

Albter says, 'Well, she'll come 'round I'm sure. Why don't you go back. Finish your drink, relax a bit! If you don't you'll make a slip. Slips get you killed. You know that.'

Tocharaeh nods in defeat, and responds, 'Ach yaer ryte. Best clear mae 'ead first. Could get mae killed iffin ahy didn't. Wise words ye speak Keep. Tenks. Ahy'll return te mae spot.

Sarias clenches the hand, which was not holding her flamboyant quill, into an angry fist. Why was the bartender encouraging him to stay?! He was getting no tip from her tonight – dammit! Perturbed, Sarias surveyed the map in front of her and noticed there were only a few spots she had not checked. Some of those places, were so seedy, even she wouldn’t want to be seen there. Her delicate eyebrows narrowed, while her face kept forward. There was no way in hell she’d let her husband see her tonight, especially when the signs were beginning to show.

Inwardly defeated, Tocharaeh removes his hat once again, and begins to walk back towards his usual spot when something hit him. Acute as his rogue sense are, he realized that Albert keeps glancing back and forth from him to someone else- a hooded figure.

It was not so much the figure being out of place for it was certainly the norm here in Yorke. But, this one appeared, to him, as if possibly trying to remain unnoticed. Since he didn't have anything better to do, 'why not go along with his now piqued curiosity?', he wondered. yes, why not.

The dark elf weaves his way through the crowd silently, and with ease saddles up in a nearby seat, looking forward only. The hood obstructed his view, but maybe after a few words and drinks, he could get past all that obstructing fabric.

Tocharaeh signals for two drinks from the well, meanwhile Albert is dumbfounded. The answer, and plague of the elf is sitting right there, and Tocharaeh doesn't even notice.

Albert places the drinks before Tocharaeh, and briskly returns to the other end of the bar, pretending to clean something or other.

'Share ennae ah' drink friend?', Tocharaeh asks honestly.

Sarias’s heart began to race. Her senses could pick up on the fact that his presence was near. The woman had known him for over two-hundred years, his presence was relatively recognizable. She made assured that the hood was still covering the sides of her face and gritted her teeth together. She would require an escape; she wasn’t quite prepared to reveal herself to him. His looming-self sat beside her and she kept herself focused, only nodding and grasping at the drink the bartender had given her. She wouldn’t drink it yet, less her veil fall.

He smoothly reaches for his own drink with a nod. Good. This is the start he thought. 'Been 'ere long? Annae seen ye abouts affor now. Where ye intendin' mate?' he asked plainly.

Sarias catches another breath in her throat and sets down the glass. The wine reverberates in the glass, almost matching the rate of her heart. This was her only chance to get away. Rapidly, the elf swipes the map off of the table and moves in the opposite direction, making sure her face was turned away from her husband and exits towards the door. As much as she missed his face, she was not secure enough to lie to about the situation without the certain vampiric bastard captured.

Clicking his tongue in failure, Tocharaeh drinks softly. Guess the traveler didn't want to talk. Oh well, at least his mind was less occupied now.

Albert looks up from cleaning a glass with a rag, and watches the woman leave with some disappointment in his eyes. She forgot to pay him! He glowered a bit at the glass, and then decided to take some revenge. "I'm pretty certain, that elven woman, was your wife." He murmured quietly to Tocharaeh before moving onto the next customer. Serves her right!

His ears as keen as ever picked up the quip from the Innkeeper, and nearly choked on his wine. Bloody hell, and a handbag! He thought. Right there this whole time. Tocharaeh stewed darkly and realized he had missed his chance. He placed a few gold coins down, retrieved his hat, and gave a curt twist of his ring. In a flash, he was gone.

The forest was nearly pitch black in the late hours, the wind was low, the air was cold. This was a normal pattern around these parts, and yet there were people that called it home. As a sound of hooves break the silence of the darkness, a figure in scarlet holds steadily onto the reigns of the steed. A lantern, the only source of light the figure had, was tied securely to the saddle. Green eyes stare out from underneath the hood – looking, watching, and waiting for something to unfold. However, there was nothing but darkness, so the figure dismounts her chestnut stallion and ties it off onto a nearby oak tree.

“I did what I had to do.” The figure’s lips whispered into the night as a depressed sigh followed. Removing the hood from her head, the elven woman runs a hand through her long, raven hair. “My husband will be furious.” Her complexion darkened, matching the surrounding atmosphere, while she finds a spot under the tree to get some rest. The breathing escaping her being was fast paced and hard. At her state, even riding a horse was considered exhausting, but she was fleeing her possible doom. She had left her hand maiden in a nearby town, not telling her where she was headed. This was her plan, since she knew it wouldn’t be long till information would try to be extracted. “I will give birth on my own, or perhaps with a strangers help? The child would most likely be harmed if I were to return home.”

A few hours earlier the woman had made the decision of mailing her husband lies about the situation. It was her last resort after not discovering where the vampires were hiding their lord. She poured months into her search, and she knew there were going to be rumors about her disappearance. If she couldn’t find the treacherous man on her own, she knew her husband could do so. Her light eyes stare up into the dark canopy above her; she could hear the leaves shuddering in the cold wind. She would not allow the child to be killed for a mistake of her own accord, but would possibly hide it. With whom, she had no clear choice. There was hardly any time for her to think as tiredness washed over her and her weary eyelids fluttered close. Sleep, her most avoided nemesis, overcame her until the time allowed for her to awake again.

This is more of an ooc note than anything else. Two months ago, I was asked to suggest ideas to further introduce and promote rp, and the saints put a lot of effort and a lot of tokens into this event. (ie dungeons and rp items) I'm not capable of nagging people every single day to give me an update of whether they still want to participate or if they are going to do their parts. If the people that had parts in this please post what times you are available to participate that would be helpful. Thank you. :)

The Raging

Journal Entry: The Rage

“Burning. Toiling. Bubbling. Aching. The broken heart, and raging anger and hatred long since repressed, has now become my internal inferno. The extreme betrayal that vexes me so is almost too much to bear, My wife defiled, and long since vanished. The defiler is in hiding. It is time to set my sights on something. Fling my rage and unending pain in a public way. Show all what happens when I am crossed. An example needs to be made. Just north of Old Yorke is a town atop a flattened mountain top. It is the ideal place to make my displeasure known. They will all see. Not one can possibly miss the spectacle. Indeed, their end is nigh. All will know. All will fear. All will understand. ”

                     -Tocharaeh D’Araesth
The 35th Day of the Month of Nature, Year 667.

Tocharaeh replaces his quill in the nearby inkwell, and reclines against his chair. A tiny replica of the orb of seeing floats just a hand-breadth above his writing desk. The room is dark, and quiet. His two homunculi stay in the shadows behind, knowing to not disturb their master’s thoughts. The pained drow looks on into the orb and mentally wills it to seek out the mountain village that will be the target of his wrath. He stares on into the orb while idling petting his miniature deep dragon pet perched on his arm. A shame really, that these people have to suffer for others sins. However evil it may be (such trivial descriptors have never bothered him before), it is unavoidable. His life has been robbed. He will show them all what exactly that feels like.

[Speaking Sindarin]
‘You two.’, the drow call out. He knew they stood far behind in waiting.
‘Yes father?’, asked the homunculi in unison.
‘See that all of the preparations are made. I want the brood on alert, and the breeding to recommence. Soon, we will march.’, Tocharaeh said in even dark tones as he stared on.
The homunculi knew not to waste time, and left promptly as soon as they knew their master was done with his words. They knew not to test him. This was the way. You never tested “Father”. If he said jump, you didn’t bother asking for clarities. You already knew. This is the way things are done here.

Tocharaeh continued to stare on, watching the quiet innocent mountain people go about their lives completely unaware of what would soon be their doom. Perhaps he will show some mercy. Perhaps he will not completely destroy them. He will certainly leave a lasting scar. Nobody could ever say he was unreasonable. It was part of his nature of dark neutrality. He only did what he felt was necessary. Dealing in absolutes was a rarity. But this time, this time he may make an appropriate exception to that rule. Absolutes get points across. Absolutes drive fatalism home. They must all know that doom ever looms overhead. They must all know. ‘Damn you Sarias.’

(ooc: the child has been born and hidden with Lystari, for those too lazy to read this post. Lol.)

The sun rises up against the cold surroundings and reveals new things within the darkness. Flowers, trees, mountains, baby… wait baby? Wails resound as a little figure lays nestled in its mother’s arms. It did not seem pleased about being birthed in the middle of nowhere. The mother hissed softly at the baby, while village women fussed around her. She had never been so lucky to stumble upon a peaceful elven settlement just a week ago as any other village would have turned her away. The green eyes of the mother settled upon the baby boy’s red ones, as her countenance shook with sadness. She knew she could not keep such a child, especially one that seemed to emit an aura opposite of hers. Even the village women were beginning to question the looks of the child, which caused her even more fear. She did not want rumors to spread and instead dismissed their questions. There was little time to become caught up in bloodline politics that the elven society seemed to argue over – she had to hide the child as soon as possible. However, she was in no condition to be wandering around, not with the impending doom that was about to fall upon her.

Betrayal or not – she wanted the child to live.

“I request a favor…” She murmured to a young girl in a tongue she would understand, when the older ones had left.  “I have much gold if you can perform this task for me.” The girl’s eyes widen at the mention of a money offering and nodded her head in respect. “Please take this child to a friend of mine. She should not be too far as I cannot bring him to the place where I am going. Do this for me in secret or his life will not be safe.” Her voice wavered as she glanced down at the baby again and then held up five fingers. “I will be gone in five days. Take him, the note I will give you, and the gold. Ask no questions of my friend, except for her name. Her name must be Lystari.” The girl nodded once more and left Sarias to her solitude when the mother requested it.

Over those few days, Sarias gathered strength to pen the note and the directions for the young girl. She had no clue if she could trust the girl to do what was told of her, but there was no other way now. She just had to pray to the gods that she made the right choice. Her prayers vanished with her presence after time had run out. If there was one thing the woman was good at doing, it was escaping; she had no desire to be around while her beloved was in his mood. After all she learned in the last two hundred years, it was that the drow and his spiders were a hellish combination.

[OOC This is building up to the haralding in my zones in two parts. No, not the big zone... Yet. But this will lead into it. Anyway, this event is the perfect time to build background. Enjoy!][Zone release TBA, near ptest time now]

9th Day of the Month of Deception, Year 667

Tocharaeh stands at the end of his balcony and looks out at his Brood in the midst of preparations for battle. Everything was falling into place. He had gone on hiatus from his double life as a Sicilian. The Family didn't need to be....no...shouldn't be involved. The evil he was about to unleash was unbecoming of an old Capo Crimini. This was not about business. This was revenge.

He waves a hand over his bulbous seeing eye orb, and looks over the breeding rooms. The whimpers, sobbing, and tormented cries of horror and helplessness were loud and clear. Almost music to his ears. He could feel the stirrings of his old ways deep inside his black heart. Long since tamed, he had shelved that part of himself away after leaving the Sith. He locked it away after meeting Sarias. Sarias. Damn that woman. She got careless. She knew this would happen in such events. She knew and understood how thin the very delicate thread of his tether was. Now broken, there is no turning back.  It is he who is truly paying the price. He. Not her. Not anyone.

The brood has grown rapidly over the many weeks. His cult followers ushered in from a dark place arrive in throngs. But the secret must be kept. The Dark Lady demanded it. Contingency enchantments and wards have been placed on every one of his cult followers. No one could know. The Brood, his fodder, required no such safeguards and have been kept largely out of the loop. They only know what they need to.

Small raids test raids have been issued to bring the peoples sense of awareness up to par. They have caught on the something different in their normally clean mountain air. The midnight kidnaping's surely helped. Though that was more out of necessity than fear mongering.  He needed hosts for the breeding, so it was only natural.

Yes. A wise choice to keep the Family out of it. What was being done was to not be pegged on them. This, he needed to take sole credit for. And rightfully so. This would be the first of many examples to be made. They would all know. And that traitorous cretin would surely understand the message Tocharaeh was about to send.

The Brood War is coming.
