4 Dimensions is a mud heavy on Quests. Be sure not to miss the Questacademy

on top of Mud School, this is more or less the key to the Mud.

There are three main types of Quests: Imm run quests, scavenger hunts and 

built-in quests. If an imm run quest is on, you will generally be notified

by a note on the main board at Recall or by the imm him/herself. If there is

no special Quest running at present, you can try one of the Questcards.


The command QUEST toggles the Quest Channel. This simple command merely

informs the Powers that Be that you wish to participate in the currently

running Quest. If an immortal is running a Quest and needs to know who wishes

to participate, he/she will ask players to turn on their Quest flags using

this QUEST command if they are interested in the Quest. It also allows you to 

talk on the quest channel and receive information specific to the quest.


Being a good Questor is more or less essential in 4D, because most of the best 

equipment and subskills can only be gained by Quests. Sometimes the reward for 

solving a quest are tokens. To be a good Questor you need to pay attention, 

read descriptions and look for extra descriptions in the rooms, look at mobs 

and objects, and use all 5 senses (look, listen, smell, taste, feel). And also 

pay attention to all that a Quest Mob tells you.
