# Traders are NOT Shopkeepers!

The value of a product can be increased by upgrading. To take a simple
#; main difference between Shopkeepers and a Trader mob is that Traders don't

#; you some experiencepoints.

# Never give a mob an item that it didn't ask for.

#; the mob is a Trader, they will most likely give it back, drop it on the

#; or even refuse to take it. But if it's an ordinary mob, it will just

#; the item and you'll have to kill or steal to get it back. And if it is a

#; you'll be in trouble, since most shopkeepers are unkillable. The

#; way to determine if a mob is a shopkeeper is to type LIST. If you get

#; response 'You cannot do that here.', there is no shop in the room.

# Always talk to the mob before giving out any items.

can also be pressed into wine and oil.
#; is the easiest way to determine what it wants. Most traders will react to

#; word 'Greetings' or any of the dimensional greet phrases. Some of them

#; also react to phrases like 'What is wrong?' or 'Do you need help?'

#; many cases the mob will react to the approach by giving you a list of

#; or even a business card. Otherwise you need to pay attention to

#; the mob says. Keeping notes is a good idea.

TRADEVALUE

The value of a product can be increased by upgrading. To take a simple

example: any kind of grain can be ground to flour in a mill. Grapes and olives

can also be pressed into wine and oil.

Even though you can trade the basic products in a few places, naturally the

flour, wine and oil will fetch a better price than the grain, grapes and

olives.

Flour, wine and oil, together with various other things, can also be

ingredients of things like potions, pastries or snacks, which in turn will

fetch a price that is substantially higher than the separate products combined

  • IF you find the right buyer.
