# '''Traders are NOT Shopkeepers!'''

Tradepoints are a special kind of currency that you get from trading with
#:main difference between Shopkeepers and a Trader mob is that Traders don't

#:and sell things for gold coins. Instead you GIVE the merchandise to the

#:and get Tradepoints and/or some other item in return. Most Traders also

#:you some experiencepoints.

# '''Never give a mob an item that it didn't ask for.'''

#:the mob is a Trader, they will most likely give it back, drop it on the

#:or even refuse to take it. But if it's an ordinary mob, it will just

#:the item and you'll have to kill or steal to get it back. And if it is a

#:you'll be in trouble, since most shopkeepers are unkillable. The

#:way to determine if a mob is a shopkeeper is to type LIST. If you get

#:response 'You cannot do that here.', there is no shop in the room.

# '''Always talk to the mob before giving out any items.'''

#:is the easiest way to determine what it wants. Most traders will react to

#:word 'Greetings' or any of the dimensional greet phrases. Some of them

#:also react to phrases like 'What is wrong?' or 'Do you need help?'

#:many cases the mob will react to the approach by giving you a list of

#:or even a business card. Otherwise you need to pay attention to

#:the mob says. Keeping notes is a good idea.

TRADEPOINTS POINTS TRADING TP

Tradepoints are a special kind of currency that you get from trading with

certain Trader mobs and from basic professions like farming, gardening,

lumberjacking, mining, goldpanning and mushroomfarming.

You can use the Tradepoints to buy several useful things, in some cases

similar things that you can also buy from Tokens. The Tradepoints are however

not worth as much as the Tokens, since they can be acquired a lot easier and

with less risk involved.

10 TradePoints approximately equal one brass token.

Player Houses and personalised equipment, pets, mounts and vehicles can still

only be bought from tokens.

See the list below for things that you can buy from the TradePoints:

  • Spacebikes
  • Gem clusters (fuel for spacebikes)
  • 'Special' Potions from the Greek Islands and Egypt.
(These vastly excel all other potions available in the game).
  • Pushcarts, that allow you to get more heavy stuff along on your travels.
  • Restrings
  • Daycare and baby descriptions.
  • Wedding rings
  • TP's can also be exchanged for exp. 1 TP equals the exp you get from a level
35 mob. In rare cases items bought for Tradepoints can be sold for tokens.

Some people seem to have a natural knack for trading. There is nothing

supernatural about this, it has just got to do with collecting information and

keeping meticulous notes.

Normally success in Trading is decided by three factors:

the VALUE of the merchandise, the SUPPLY and the DEMAND.
