TRIGEDIT SCRIPTS MOB_PROGS
TRIGEDIT SCRIPTS MOB_PROGS
SCRIPTS, or - as they are called in other codebases - MOB_PROGS, are the funny
trinkets that brings your zone to life. And TRIGEDIT is the command you use to
create them. With scripts you can make Mobs talk and act more intelligently,
answer questions, receive and hand out items.
Scripts can also be used to set flags on players, create more or less
elaborate Quests, create features like erupting volcanoes, bog-holes that suck
you down, flaming swords, eggs that hatch, cellphones etc.
All this is done with scripts. BUT...
A bad script can also easily be abused by the players – and
make no mistake, they WILL abuse it!
The trigedit command in an unskilled Builder's hand is like a razor in the
hand of a monkey.
This is why new Builders generally don't get the trigedit command until they
have finished their first 50 rooms. So, there will be no on-line help for
trigedit, because scripts are a bit too complicated to explain in a few words.
With the command you'll be getting access to files that explain the basics of
scripts. Being a skilled scriptor takes time and effort.
