BATTLESPAM NOBATTLESPAM SPAM

Spam is generally defined as repeated actions, usually with the intention of

annoying people. There are for instance morons, who like to log on to a Mud

just to spam the channels with obscenities, racial slurs or sometimes just

advertisements for another Mud. (This is the reason why level 1 players can't

gossip much, since there is not always an imm online to stop this kind of

nuisance).

But there are things that cause irritating spam without the intent of being

annoying. Just a player getting all his potions from his bag could spam you

out of the screen. The gossip channel can be quite spammy, when there are

many players online and they all feel talkative. (This is the reason why most

open channels can be TOGGLED on and off. If some player is spamming you with

annoying tells, you also have the option to IGNORE <player>).

Finally, anyone who has fought a tough mob knows how spammy the fight messages

can be. There is however a remedy for that too: toggle NoBattlespam. This will

also stop you from seeing other people's title.

Apart from that: try to be a bit considerate. If you are going to check all

the pills in your bag, don't do it in a crowded room like Recall. Don't spam

people with repeating the same social over and over again.

As always - use your own common sense.
