SPACESHIPS
You can FLY a spaceship in all directions that you can drive a vehicle,
plus up and down by using {cWfly <direction>{cw, (fly north, fly east, etc).
If you {cWSIT DOWN{cw in the ship first, you can use just the usual movement
commands, east west, north etc.
You can also land the spaceship on planets and asteroids, and it will stay
there until someone flies it away, or the Port reboots/crashes.
The Ship's Computer has several useful commands, which will be listed if you
{cWsay COMMANDS{cw while inside the ship.
The spaceships are the best way getting around in open space, since trying
to move there without a ship will exhaust you very fast. Also the natural
assets that can be exploited from different planets are mostly very heavy,
so you'll need a ship to transport them to the Trading Centers.
Spacebikes are handy, but they don't have all the information stored in the
Spaceship computer.
Each spaceship has a missile launcher, allowing you to attack and blow up
other spaceships and maybe steal their cargo.
(HELP MISSILES will give more info about this.)
The spaceships have different armor classes, ranging from 1 to 5, with 5
as the strongest. It will take five direct hits to blow up a ship of Class
5, but only one to destroy a Class 1 ship.
If a ship is blown up, it will land the crew and most of the cargo in the
room where the ship was. The ship will repop in its Home Hangar next time
that zone resets. So you'd better wear a space suit while flying a ship, it
will keep you alive if your spaceship gets destroyed. Also you need INFRA
to see in space, and the spacesuits and helmets have that built in.
You can get a list of all registered ships, their locations and Class, by
saying INFO SPACESHIPS in any of the spaceships or in the Briefing Room in
the Earth Space Port (one step east from where the Time Guardian sends you.)
