IC RP OOC
Usage: IC <message>
RP
IC is a global channel that can only be monitored by registered Roleplayers,
as opposed to the Gossip channel, which is OOC.
IC means In Character, OOC stands for Out Of Character.
If you sit at Recall discussing the latest football results, you're obviously
OOC. Same thing if you discuss things like stats, damroll or exp over the
Gossip channel. Since both Recall and Gossip are defined as OOC, it is
perfectly okay to do this.
However, if you barge into a room where two or more players are roleplaying,
and start ranting about things like that, you are not only OOC, you are rude
too. You will probably be asked to leave the room, and you'd better do so,
because the interests and inclination of other players should always be
respected. If you persist in disturbing a RP session, you will most likely be
reported and dealt with by the Staff.
Roleplayers are recommended to avoid the Recall area for any RP sessions and
to turn off the global gossip, auction, grats and newbie channels before
indulging in any serious RP. If you want to be totally safe from non-RP
intrusions, it's recommended that you use any of the 4 RP Inns (there is one
in each Dimension) and that you type RP. This will put an RP-flag in your
prompt and means that you won't hear any of the global channels and that you
are having an RP-session.
